Dear Students:
I want to be very proud of you today in all the challenges I give you and in all my usual expectations of you. Make yourself proud too!
Accept the challenges; meet them 'head-on' and boldly stretch your brain-power to learn something new in the effort.
My usual expectations are always in place in behavior, maturity, using positive peer pressure, etc., but my expectations are also your striving for excellence, and not being satisfied with sloppy work or in just sitting and not thinking.
Be determined throughout the day to be able to say at the end of the day: "I did some great things today in my learning. It was a great day!"
Sincerely,
Mr. Stathis
Dear Students:
Today we will honor in front of all the Elementary School, those who made 100% Attendance for the month of January. Be proud of yourself, and if you are one, or even if you are not, honor all other being honored today. It takes character, good character, to show honor to others where honor is due.
We will honor too, two Classmates, and two from every classroom for special recognition for the fine example in scholarship and citizenship they showed during the month of January. Let's discuss some of the qualities of Character that go into these two characteristics worthy of honor.
Sincerely,
Mr. Stathis
Dear Students:
In Classroom 16! you are challenged to become Great! That's a big challenge. You have to probe into yourself to find the "content of your character" that can lead you to greatness by accepting challenges head-on, demonstrating self-control and maturity, and using Positive Peer Pressure.
Your Characters, and your opportunities become damaged when you choose to break rules, be disrespectful, act with immaturity, join in wrong actions because you want to join with others doing wrong.
Your parents, me, and all around you expect you to have honorable characters.
Sincerely,
Mr. Stathis
Dear Students:
This week we planted trees. We worked together to do our part, connected with our families, to donate money "to the cause." What is the 'cause'?
It's not JUST to get a couple trees to plant, but it is a cause of beautifying OUR school; it is a cause of connecting us closer to the wonders, the mysteries, the joy found in Nature!
We can learn about Nature, and that's good. But we can also connect to Nature and thereby learn how important are humans in their relationship to Nature. Let's talk about that.
Sincerely,
Mr. Stathis
Dear Students:
Happy Valentine's Day!
Let's talk about what this day "could" mean.
I also want to talk about "trust."
Let's talk about what that concept could and should mean.
And then, let's have a great and happy day!
Sincerely,
Mr. Stathis
